One word: WOW! The sod itself is top quality and extremely resilient. Looks absolutely beautiful I’m so thankful I took the plunge and ordered Marathon for our backyard sod. I was having some problems with the installer of our sod and called southland to help me out. The install of the sod has nothing to do with southland Sod but John still came out and massively helped me out!!! What a gem he is - after his advice and consultation I feel much more confident in the long term success of our sod install. He also gave me actionable recommendations that I was able to pass off to the installer to ensure the sod lives. Thank you John for taking the time to come out to my house and help me out. I could not be more happy with a sod company!!!

A while back, I replaced all the sod in my back yard, front yard, and parkway. The company supplying the sod was Southland Sod Farms. When I first called them, I was immediately impressed with the staff, who were very knowledgeable when answering my questions. I was originally interested in getting Marathon II sod, but after describing many of my lawn areas as being shaded for a large portion of the day, they recommended Marathon I, because it was much more shade-tolerant. Once the sod was installed, and I had more questions regarding upkeep, they referred me to Renato, who they said was the expert rep in my area. Renato is hands-down, the “Sod God.” Always available, and the few times I got his voicemail, he called me back right away. Recently, the City of Long Beach removed/replaced the curbs on my street, which meant that they also removed about a foot of my new sod, along the entire front of my parkway. So I called Renato about the best way to purchase more sod, and he arranged to replace it for free. He then drove to my house to inspect and measure the area to be replaced, and set up the order and drop-off schedule for me. Incredible service! Southland Sod Farms has great su

From making sure our soil and yard were properly prepared, to following up days after installation to check on the progress, John was attentive every step of the way. He’s extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the results. Throughout our lawn restoration, he has been the person we trusted most to guide us through the process.
